Honda Hornet 2.0 has been launched in India digitally. Hornet 2.0 is now upgraded a lot compared to previous Hornet 1.0. Honda Hornet 2.0 has come with a 184.4cc engine, a single-channel ABS, fuel injection technology, Upside down Fork, engine kill switch, all LED lights and engine ignition key on the tank. Engine and Body Dimensions:

Honda Hornet 2.0 is more updated than Honda Hornet 1.0 (Hornet 160R). You can say that all new Hornet without losing the reflection of the Hornet series.

The engine of the Hornet 2.0 has been updated with a durable and powerful air-cooled 4-stroke spark-ignition 184.4cc HET BS6 engine which will generate the maximum power of 12.7 kW @ 8500 rpm and the maximum torque of 16.1 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The engine is covered by an engine guard so that one can cruise to any terrains with this new sporty motorcycle.

The fuel to this new engine will be supplied by an electronic programmed fuel injection system. The self-start has been given as standard.

Honda has been developed the new Hornet 2.0 very smartly. The well-engineered new Hornet has a kerb weight of 142 kg with a 184.4cc engine while the kerb weight of Hornet 160R was 138 kg with a 160cc engine. The lower weight of the Honda Hornet 2.0 will help in the better mileage to its owners.  

This run machine has a 167 mm of ground clearance which seems good for a sportbike. This bike is presented with a 12-litre muscular tank so that one can travel without the tension of fuel refuelling. Honda Hornet 2.0 is capable to provide a range between 550 km to 600 km with a single fuel filling. The dimensions of the Honda Hornet 2.0 is well as per the need of a sportbike.

Electricals and Transmission:

The Hornet 2.0 has been adorned with all LED lighthouse. The headlamp and tail lamp has been LED light with daylight LED DRLs in the headlamp. Winkers are newly designed and having full-LED lighting. 

This machine is fitted with a 12V, 5.0Ah battery and battery volts can be seen on the LCD instrument cluster of the bike also. 

The clutch-type of Hornet 2.0 is a multi-plate wet clutch. The slipper clutch is missing probably because of cost-cutting. The bike is presented with a 5-speed gearbox. A 6-speed gearbox could be another plus point for this bike.

Tyre and Brakes:

The front and rear tyres of the new Hornet 2.0 are tubeless. The front tyre is 110mm wide and the rear tyre is 140mm wide. 140mm wider rear tyre will greatly support this motorcycle for a better grip on the road.

The front 276mm disc brake and the rear 220mm brake with a single channel Anti Braking System (ABS) feature is well enough to control this mechanical running machine at any speed. The disc types are petal disc type which is responsible for enhanced braking efficiency because of good heat dissipation property. A powerful engine needs a great braking system to control the motorcycle which has been added in this new Honda Hornet 2.0.

Frame and Suspension:

This new Honda Hornet 2.0 has been ornamented with a lightweight rampant diamond-type frame which is capable to handle the sudden shock at any speed.

The front suspension is upside-down suspension (USD) fork which is 1st in this segment. In USD, the suspension is connected to the fully opposite direction compared to the conventional suspension system. The USD in the front get a full sporty look to this bike and this suspension system handle bumps in a better way. The rear side monosock suspension is fully capable to give the Hornet 2.0 a supreme stability.

Newly Added Features:

Honda Hornet 2.0 is loaded with a lot of new features which will bring this bike to the list of the top-selling bikes in this segment.

Features like split seats, hazard light switch and key on tank look tremendous and give a full sportbike feel to the Hornet 2.0.

Colours and Price:

The Hornet 2.0 offers four dashing colours which are matte axis grey metallic, matte marvel blue metallic, matte sangria red metallic and pearl igneous black.

The ex-showroom price of BS6 Honda Hornet 2.0 starts from INR 1.27 Lakh in Delhi. The price of Hornet 2.0 is affordable and competitive. 

No doubt Honda Two Wheeler did a lot of work in this muscular and aggressive Honda Hornet Version 2 bike. The bike gives a full feel of a sportbike and equipped with all modern features. Honda's bikes are known for the durability and a quality part run machine assembly. Honda Hornet 2.0 will compete strongly with TVS Apache 200 4V which is priced at 1.28 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
