Bike Service and Maintenance Pro Tips

In this blog, I have tried to explain some additional advanced tips for bike maintenance. These actions which are described below have been taken by me personally. If you are a bike lover you should do it.

All of us bring our bikes to the service center for servicing our bikes. All eyes remain on the low service costs, which definitely, should be considered.

But here I am recommending some small changes in mind set up at the time of servicing our bikes which can be a long-term benefit to increase performance, condition as well as the mileage of your bike.

Generally, the serviceman does the washing, changes engine oil, oil filter, and air filter cleaning.

At the time of servicing we should take care of these additional measures:

Spark plug cleaning/replacement:

Generally, we forget to do anything on our spark plug. A black layer of carbon covers the (platinum/iridium tip and copper-core center electrode) of a spark plug. We should check it and ask to clean so that sparking could be more effective and the engine start gets more easy, quick, and comfortable.

At every 10,000 kilometers to 15,000 kilometers, we should try to replace the spark plug. It costs around INR 200-250 ($3-4).
Though it can work up to 40,000 kilometers you can phase its core electrode burning or engine start problem.

Fuel Injector / Carburetor cleaning:

We do not care about fuel injector/carburetor cleaning until it troubled us. My advice is to consider this also a major job to be done at the time of service. I am cleaning my injector every 15,000 kilometers. The standard cleaning time is 10,000 kilometers. You will feel an increase in the pickup of the bike.

Air filter replacement:

Air filter external cleaning is important at every servicing but it should be replaced from 10,000 kilometers to 20,000 kilometers (depends upon dusty area or condition of the air filter).

Carbon Cleaner (to clean carbon and enhance engine performance):

It is an additive to add to the petrol tank. It keeps carbon removal from engine parts and enhances fuel efficiency, clean exhaust emission, low engine vibration, and low engine noise reduction.

It also costs around INR 200-250 ($3-4). Companies advise to use per 3,000 kilometers but I use this after every 10,000 kilometers.

Regular Tyre air pressure check-up:

Regular Tyre air pressure check-up is a great effort to maintain the bike's mileage and to enhance the tire's life.
Once in a week or at least within 15 days, we should check our tire pressure.

In conclusion, I want to say that these suggestions are not mandatory to maintain.
But you should try this once if you are a bike lover. I never faced any problem in my bike's engine as well as in performance for five years.

Conclusion:

These are some low-cost additional actions I have taken on the journey to maintain my bike conditioned. My bike never dissatisfied me with any breakdown and still after the 5 years of journey mileage is constant. You should involve it within you for the better life of your lovely bike.
