Tata Punch became the safest SUV in India by defeating XUV 300 in the Global NCAP Crash Test.

The newly launched Tata Punch SUV has scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash test in adult occupant protection. Tata Punch is the compact SUV launched by Tata Motors in India recently. The booking of Tata Punch started in India currently. It's an affordable compact SUV that has been priced below Tata Nexon. Tata Nexon is powered by a 1.2L Revotron engine with Dyna pro-technology and 5-speed AMT with traction pro mode. Tata Punch comes with a cruise control feature, automatic headlamp, dual airbags and 187mm ground clearance. The expected price of the new Tata Punch starts from Rs 5.49 Lakhs. The price was revealed on 18th October 2021 during the launching ceremony of Tata Punch by Tata Motors India.

Global NCAP Crash Test Safety Rating of Tata Punch:

Tata Punch is a 5-door sub-4 meter SUV launched by Tata Motors in India. For the Global NCAP crash test, Tata Punch with 2-Airbags, 4-channel ABS and Isofix child anchorage seat has been tested at 64 kmph speed. The total crash test weight of the SUV was 1313 kg. 

The solid-built Tata Punch achieved a 5-star safety rating in the adult occupant protection by scoring 16.75 points out of 17 maximum points. In child occupant protection, Tata Punch achieved a 4-star safety rating by scoring 40.89 points out of the total 49 points. 

Adult Occupants Protection Safety Rating of Tata Punch:

In adult occupant protection, Tata Punch beats the XUV 300, Tata Nexon, Tata Altroz and became the safest SUV of India compared to any segment. In adult occupant protection the head, chest, thigh and legs protection of both driver and front passenger were good. The drives tibias showed adequate protection and the front passenger tibias showed good and adequate protection. Global NCAP crash test report further explained that the vehicle was stable after the crash test and capable to withstand a further load.

Child Occupants Protection Safety Rating of Tata Punch:

For the child occupant protection, the child seat with Isofix anchorages and support leg. It was tested for a 3-year old and 1.5-year old child. The CRSs worked well and restrict the excessive movement of the child seat during impact. The head and chest of the child were well protected during impact. The Isofix anchorage of the car was excellent and well compatible with this SUV.   

Our Conclusion:

Team Cubic Cms was very happy as Indian automakers like Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra are launching the safest cars/SUVs in India day by day. They are setting great safety standards in India by which one can roam easily a long distance without any fear. We are hoping for such safety standards in the upcoming cars/SUVs of Hyundai India, Kia Motors India and Maruti Suzuki India also.
