Mahindra XUV 700 became the safest SUV in India, tested by Global NCAP

Mahindra XUV 700 scored five stars in the Global NCAP Crash Test. XUV 700 was recently launched by the Mahindra and Mahindra Automobile Company India. XUV 700 is the safest made in India SUV. 

Mahindra XUV 700 achieved  5 stars in adult occupant protection and the highest ever in India child occupants protection. This SUV is in very high demand in India and is enabled with world-class safety features including ADAS. The ex-showroom price of Mahindra XUV 700 starts from Rs 12.49 Lakhs in India.

Global NCAP Crash Test Safety Rating of Mahindra XUV 700

Mahindra XUV 700 comes in the 5-seater and 7-seater variants. Global NCAP has used 5-door XUV 700 SUV with 2-Airbags, 4-channel ABS, Isofix Anchorages, SBR and Front Seatbelt Pretensioners for the crash test. The total crash test weight of the SUV was 1960 kg and the crash test speed was 64 km/h. The body shell was stable during the crash test.

Mahindra XUV 700 is the first Indian brand with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) safety feature which scored a 5-star safety rating in the adult occupants protection by scoring 16.03 points out of 17 maximum points. In child occupants protection XUV 700 achieved a 4-star safety rating by scoring 41.66 points out of the total 49 points. XUV 700 is the first Indian SUV to achieve the highest points in child occupants protection.

Adult Occupants Protection Safety Rating of Tata Punch

In the adult occupants protection head, neck, chest and knees of both driver and passenger are good. Driver tibias showed adequate protection while passenger tibias showed good and adequate protection. The vehicle was stable during the collision and the leag was also well protected.   

Child Occupants Protection Safety Rating of Tata Punch

For the child occupant protection, the child seat with Isofix anchorages and support leg were installed for a 3-year old and 1.5-year old child. During the collision, the child seat was able to save the head of the child. The protection was good for the 1.5-year old child and fair for the 3-year old child. CRSs worked well.

Our Conclusion

Mahindra XUV 700 is in very high demand in India because of its world-class features like automatic emergency braking, lane sensing-based driving and semi auto-pilot driving.
