MG Astor vs Hyundai Creta vs Kia Seltos - Cubic Cms

MG Astor vs Hyundai Creta vs Kia Seltos - Cubic Cms

The battle of MG Astor vs Hyundai Creta vs Kia Seltos is very competitive and tough. These three SUVs are the mid-size SUV available in India. Creta and Seltos are already within the best-selling SUV in India while MG has planned well to steal this segment with Astor.

MG Astor vs Hyundai Creta vs Kia Seltos - Cubic Cms

All these three SUVs are coming with a great exterior but the front view of the Seltos wins this battle because of the next generation headlamp. The grill of Astor looks unique compared to Creta and Seltos. Hyundai Creta wins the rear look while Kia Seltos comes second and MG Astor comes to the third position.

Astor is available in the Petrol engine option only while Creta and Seltos are available in both Petrol and Diesel engine options. The petrol engine of Creta and Seltos generates 242 Nm torque at 1500 rpm while the petrol engine of Astor crunches out 220 Nm torque at 3600 rpm. All three SUVs come with nearly the same engine power of 138 PS in the petrol engine option. MG Astor comes in the 6-speed automatic gearbox option while Creta and Seltos are enabled with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Turbo petrol engine is available in all three SUVs.

Astor (L*W*H: 4323*1809*1650) is a little bit long in the dimension aspects compared to Hyundai Creta (L*W*H: 4300*1790*1635) and Kia Seltos (L*W*H: 4315*1800*1645) in mm.

From the safety point of view, MG Astor is far ahead of the Creta and Seltos. MG offers ADAS safety features in the Astor which includes Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Prevention and Rear Cross-Traffic Assist. These features are not available in the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. ADAS is a much-needed safety feature Hyundai and Kia will probably update these SUVs with the ADAS features in the future. All three SUVs come with 6-Airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, Hill Hold Control and Traction Control while MG Astor also comes with Hill Descent Control.

A 360-degree view camera is missing in Hyundai Creta which is available in the MG Astor and Kia Seltos. Astor comes with an Adaptive Cruise Control feature instead of normal Cruise Control.

MG Astor is a tech-loaded SUV that has so many first-in-segment features with a bold exterior and interior but this SUV is available in only petrol engine options in India. Hyundai Creta is available in three engine options and the global design looks cool that's why Creta is the best-selling SUV in India. Kia Seltos is a well-designed modern SUV and this SUV is well-packed but lags in the safety points of view.

The ex-showroom price of MG Astor starts from Rs 9.78 Lakhs in India while the ex-showroom India prices of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos start from Rs 10.16 Lakhs and 9.95 Lakhs respectively. MG has the challenge to grab the already set market of this segment. It is clear that the Astor is more safe and affordable compared to Creta and Seltos. But Creta and Kia Seltos have come in more engine options and variants. The battle between these three SUVs will be a blockbuster in the automobile world and all are great in some way.
