Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2L Revotron 3-cylinder 4-valves per cylinder SOHC petrol engine having a  5-speed manual and automatic transmission. Nissan Magnite comes in the 1.0L B4D and 1.0L HRAO Turbo two petrol engine options. Each engine has a 3-cylinder and 4-valves per cylinder. 

The 1.2L Revotron engine of the Punch churns out a maximum power of 86 BHP at 6000 rpm and the maximum torque of 113 Nm at 3300 rpm. The 1.0L B4D engine of the Magnite generates a maximum power of 71 BHP at 6250 rpm and a maximum torque of 91 Nm at 4250 rpm. If you want more power and torque then Magnite has a 1.0L HRAO Turbo engine which generates a maximum power of 99 BHP at 5000 rpm and a maximum torque of 152 Nm at 2200 rpm. 

If you want a powerful engine then the Nissan Magnite turbo engine wins the race here but it will cost more compared to Tata Punch.

In the dimensions point of view, Nissan Magnite wins the battle because of its 3994mm length and 1758mm width while Punch is 3827mm in length and 1742mm in the width. The height of Tata Punch is more compared to Magnite. Punch gets 1615mm height and Magnite gets 1572mm height. Ground clearance of Magnite (205mm) is more than Tata Punch (187mm). Nissan Magnite wins the battle of dimension but another major thing is bootspace in which Tata Punch achieves supremacy by 366 litres of the bootspace compared to 336 litres bootspace in the Magnite.

From the safety point of view, Tata Punch is leading this race with a sufficient margin. Tata Punch is the safest car in India as per the famous Global NCAP Crash test report by acquiring 5 Star safety rating. Nissan Magnite has also achieved 4 Star safety rating in the ASEAN Global NCAP Crash test report. Both SUVs come with a good safety rating and Punch is more superior in the safety point of view.

Nissan Magnite is enabled with ABS, EBD, BA, ESP, Hill Hold Control and Traction Control features Tata Punch lacks in these additional safety features having ABS and EBD only. Magnite is also enabled with a 360-degree camera while Punch comes with a reverse camera only. 

Tata Punch is decorated by OTA (Over The Air) updates features and you can lock/unlock the SUV from a distance through an application on your android phone and this feature is not available in the Nissan Magnite.

Punch is loaded with the cooled glove box, automatic headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers which are not available in the Magnite. Tata punch comes with 2 years or 75,000 km of warranty while Nissan Magnite comes with 2 years or 40,000 kms of warranty only.

The above data is enough to choose the best one as per your requirement. The driving experience of the Punch is better while Magnite has a better space in the interior. The sales and service network of Tata Punch is better compared to Nissan Magnite. Nissan is currently delivering this SUV in the major cities only because of the high demand. Tata Punch is also in high demand and is delivering quickly to the owners because of the great network of Tata Motors in India. Both SUVs are good. 

If you are in a city where Nissan sales and service network is reachable and you want a powerful compact SUV then Magnite should be your choice and if you want a comfortable affordable compact SUV with better safety and bootspace then Punch should be your choice.
